The Australian government will make an announcement on Wednesday that will change the landscape of residential design in the country.
The announcement will be made by the Environment Minister Greg Hunt, and will come on the back of the announcement of a “high-tech” housing system.
It is the first such announcement in Australia, according to the Australian Institute of Architects.
“There’s a lot of interest in our country in the use of technologies, and the opportunity is there for the state to take a lead in the transition,” Greg Hunt told ABC Radio’s 7:30 program.
“This is a very important time for Australian residential design.
This is something that will create a very exciting landscape in the coming years.”
The new policy follows the establishment of a Residential and Business Development Authority (RDA) which is set to oversee the development of high-density residential and commercial developments.
The government’s announcement will also include a new “digital” approach to the planning process, which means there will be a new approach to building plans.
It is expected to create opportunities for developers to plan more effectively and for building owners to offer more affordable homes.
“We’ve seen a lot more of the old building formulae that are not actually going to work in Australia are being revisited and are being reconsidered,” Tim Paine, managing director of developer and architect Kurnell, told the ABC.
“The RDA is an opportunity to create new building forms, to do a lot better job planning, to give more planning input.”‘
This is the next phase of Australian architecture’Tim Paine said there was an opportunity for the RDA to create a new building form, and that would allow for more affordable and better value homes.
The new plan will see the government give greater responsibility to developers, as well as allowing them to offer “designer homes” which can have a more spacious layout and more natural materials.
“A lot of the time, the planning processes are based on a model that says, ‘We want you to do this, we want you on the model,’ ” Paine told ABC News.
“And so the design and the development and the installation of these homes are actually really quite different.”
The Government has also agreed to take on a new role in planning the housing system in the future.
“It’s about creating a system of governance that really looks at how we’re going to bring the Australian housing market into the 21st century,” Paine added.
“I think that will be the next step.”
The announcement comes on the heels of a recent move by the government to make changes to the way in which the housing industry manages its costs.
The changes mean the housing sector will be required to have a “living wage” that goes beyond what it currently pays.
The move follows a review of the sector’s approach to working out how to manage costs.
Under the changes, the government is also expected to take an important step towards ending the use and sale of older buildings and replacing them with “new building forms”.
A spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce, told ABC radio on Tuesday that the government had taken on a leadership role in the development process, and was committed to supporting the industry.
“In the lead up to this announcement, the Prime Minster announced that the Government would make an investment of $1.1 billion to ensure a sustainable and sustainable transition to a low-carbon economy, including through the transition to the next generation of low-cost housing,” the spokesperson said.
“Our government is committed to ensuring the transition takes place as a low carbon economy.”
What we have seen in Australia is that this is the new phase of Australia, and I’m sure the Minister will be very clear about that.
